Hi, I'm Heather.
Since 1996, I've helped countless people learn how to live with, play with and love that dog with whom they share their lives.
Through the use of science-based, progressive dog training methods, I support people to connect and communicate with their dog in a way they may not even have known was possible.
If you are the type of person who loves to dig-in and get technical and who wants to build the best relationship possible with your dog, then put on your runners and grab your treats 'cause we've got some learning and some playing to do.
You too could have a champion level start line with your agility partner. The keys to success can be built through daily, fun games that create a strong foundation of joy and confidence for all the start lines to come.
This program provides training plans with video demonstrations to bolster 2 critical foundation skills each week to ensure your dog is ready to rock the agility field come spring with new clarity and enhanced layers of understanding.
This program includes everything in the Foundations program PLUS 2 additional exercises to work on developing your handling each week. These exercises will include non-agility specific skills such as focus skills, proprioception, peripheral vision, as well as agility specific skills such as short sequences to enhance your understanding of how the foundations might surface in agility.

I have been working as a professional dog trainer since 1996. I attended my first dog agility class in 1998 and I haven't looked back. My dog Tilley and I went on to compete in the sport of agility attending regional and national events and obtained a 3rd place overall for pre-elite dogs at the NADAC Nationals.
I obtained an undergraduate degree in psychology where I did extensive coursework and a thesis in animal behaviour . This foundation continues to support me to understand the science behind effective animal training. I went on to earn B. Ed. and and M. Ed. degrees which help me with curriculum design and understanding the human learning process happening on the other end of the leash.
I continue to grow and learn from my dogs, my students and from other leaders and progressive thinkers in the field, and I bring this learner's mindset to each new partnership I work with.
